Advanced Surface Treatment

One of the defining characteristics of the Nitro 400N series is its specialized surface treatment. The bit undergoes a Nitride process that diffuses nitrogen into the surface of the steel, creating a case-hardened layer that significantly increases surface hardness without compromising the core's toughness. This prevents the brittleness often associated with through-hardened tools. Furthermore, the body and clearance areas feature a distinctive Black & Gold finish. Precision Geometry

Accuracy and efficiency are ensured by the 135-degree split point geometry. Standard 118-degree points often require a center punch to prevent "walking" across the surface of the material. The Nitro 135-degree split point is self-centering, biting into the metal immediately upon contact.
