The Pferd 43013 Polinox® PNZ Finishing Drum is a premium abrasive tool designed for industrial metalworking applications requiring both stock removal and surface refinement. Unlike standard non-woven drums, the PNZ series utilizes a hybrid construction where radial flaps of non-woven abrasive fleece are interleaved with layers of abrasive cloth. This unique configuration allows the drum to remove stronger surface imperfections, scale, and light scratches more effectively than fleece-only alternatives, while still delivering a uniform satin finish.

Engineered for versatility and efficiency, this 4-inch by 4-inch drum features an integrated 5/8-11 threaded hub. This design eliminates the need for separate keyway adapters or specialized burnishing tool spindles, allowing operators to mount the drum directly onto standard variable-speed angle grinders or compatible burnishing machines. The 100-grit aluminum oxide abrasive is optimized for medium-grade finishing tasks on stainless steel (INOX), aluminum, and non-ferrous metals.

The Polinox PNZ drum excels in applications such as matching finishes on fabricated parts, blending weld seams after initial grinding, and removing heat discoloration. Its open structure and flap arrangement promote cool grinding, significantly reducing the risk of warping or discoloring the workpiece due to thermal buildup.
