The Walter Enduro-Flex Alu™ (SKU: 06U454) is a premium 4-1/2" flap disc engineered specifically for the challenges of grinding and blending aluminum and other heat-sensitive non-ferrous metals. Standard abrasives often fail on aluminum due to the material's tendency to melt and clog the grain, a process known as loading. The Enduro-Flex Alu™ overcomes this with a proprietary coating and a superior zirconia alumina grain blend that resists glazing and loading, ensuring high removal rates and a consistent finish throughout the life of the disc.

Eco-Trim™ Technology for Extended Life

One of the standout features of the Enduro-Flex series is the Eco-Trim™ backing. Unlike traditional fiberglass backings that must be discarded once the flap overhang is worn down, the Eco-Trim™ backing is made from a trimmable engineered polymer. This allows the operator to trim the backing away, exposing fresh abrasive flaps that would otherwise go unused. This feature can extend the life of the disc by up to three times compared to standard competitors, providing exceptional value and reducing waste in industrial environments.

Spin-On Mounting System

This model features Walter's Spin-On mounting system, designed for 4-1/2" to 6" angle grinders. The integrated 5/8"-11 threaded hub allows for tool-free disc changes, significantly reducing downtime between tasks. The vibration-free construction ensures operator comfort and safety, while the contaminant-free formulation (Fe, S, Cl < 0.1%) guarantees that the disc will not introduce impurities into the workpiece, making it safe for critical welding and fabrication applications.
