The Walter 06U508 is a high-performance 5-inch flap disc from the Enduro-Flex ALU series, specifically engineered for the unique challenges of grinding and blending aluminum and other non-ferrous, heat-sensitive metals. Standard abrasives often fail on aluminum due to the material's tendency to melt and clog (load) the grain surface. This disc utilizes a proprietary coating and an advanced Zirconia Alumina grain blend that resists loading, ensuring consistent cutting action and a superior surface finish throughout the disc's life.

Mechanically, the disc features Walter's patented Eco-Trim backing. Unlike traditional fiberglass backings that must be discarded once the edge wears down, the Eco-Trim backing is made of a specialized plastic that can be trimmed away. This exposes fresh abrasive grain towards the center of the disc, effectively extending the usable life of the product by up to three times compared to standard competitors.
