The Walter Enduro-Flex Alu™ (SKU: 06U604) represents a significant advancement in abrasive technology for non-ferrous metals. Grinding aluminum and other soft, heat-sensitive metals typically presents a major challenge: the material tends to melt and adhere to the abrasive grains, a process known as loading or glazing. This renders standard flap discs ineffective within minutes. The Enduro-Flex Alu™ addresses this tribological issue with a proprietary coating and a specific zirconia alumina grain blend. This formulation lubricates the contact zone, dissipating heat and preventing the aluminum chips from welding to the disc surface.

Beyond its chemical engineering, the physical construction of the disc is designed for longevity and sustainability. It features the patented Eco-Trim™ backing made from natural fibers. Unlike fiberglass backings that must be discarded once the overhang wears down, the Eco-Trim™ backing can be trimmed back to expose fresh abrasive material that would otherwise go unused. This feature can extend the operational life of a single disc by up to three times, drastically reducing consumable costs and environmental waste.

This specific model is a 6-inch disc with a coarse Grit 40, ideal for heavy stock removal and weld blending. It utilizes the Spin-On mounting system, which integrates a 5/8"-11 threaded hub directly into the backing plate.
