The Walter 06U506 Enduro-Flex ALU Flap Disc is an industrial-grade abrasive solution engineered specifically to address the unique challenges of grinding and blending aluminum and other non-ferrous metals. Aluminum is notoriously difficult to grind because its low melting point often causes the material to soften and clog standard abrasives, a process known as "loading." This glazing effect renders ordinary discs useless long before the abrasive grain is actually worn out. The Enduro-Flex ALU solves this problem with a proprietary coating that lubricates the surface, preventing material build-up and ensuring continuous, aggressive cutting action throughout the life of the disc.

This 5-inch, 60-grit disc features Walter's innovative Eco-Trim backing. Unlike traditional fiberglass backings that cannot be altered, the Eco-Trim backing is made from a special trimmable plastic. As the flap overhang wears down, the operator can easily trim the backing material to expose fresh abrasive flaps that would otherwise be discarded. This feature effectively extends the service life of the disc by up to three times, providing significant cost savings and reducing inventory turnover for high-volume fabrication shops.

Designed for heavy-duty industrial environments, the 06U506 offers a Type 29 conical profile, which is ideal for working at angles of 15 to 25 degrees. This shape allows for greater surface contact and more aggressive stock removal on both flat surfaces and contoured edges.
