OVERVIEW

Heavy-Duty Harris Style 62-3E Acetylene Cutting Torch

The Harris Style 62-3E Cutting Torch is a precision-engineered tool designed to meet the rigorous demands of professional metalworkers. Modeled after the legendary Harris 62-3, this torch incorporates the industry-preferred triangular tube construction. This design is not merely aesthetic; the triangular arrangement of the stainless steel gas tubes provides superior structural rigidity compared to inline or round tube designs, significantly reducing the risk of bending or misalignment during heavy field use. Furthermore, the tubes are brazed at both ends to the solid forged brass head and the valve body, ensuring leak-proof integrity and exceptional durability under thermal cycling.

Optimized specifically for Acetylene gas, this torch utilizes a universal pressure mixing system. This low-pressure injector design allows the torch to pull fuel gas at lower pressures, ensuring complete combustion and a stable, hot preheat flame even when tank pressures are low. This efficiency translates to cleaner cuts, faster start times, and reduced gas consumption over the life of the torch. The 18-inch length is the standard configuration for hand cutting, providing an optimal balance between reach and control for bench work and positional cutting.

The 90-degree head angle is the industry standard for general fabrication, allowing for easy access to flat plate and structural shapes. A distinguishing feature of the TEC62-3E model is its Bottom Rear Lever. Unlike top-lever designs, the bottom rear configuration allows the operator to actuate the cutting oxygen stream by squeezing the lever towards the handle with the fingers or palm. This ergonomic grip reduces hand strain and allows for finer control of the oxygen rush, which is critical when piercing thick plate or washing off rivet heads.

Maintenance and serviceability are key for industrial tools. This torch features easily accessible valves with packing nuts that can be tightened to prevent leaks. It is fully compatible with Harris 6290 series cutting tips, which are among the most widely available consumables in the welding industry. The inlet connections are standard 9/16"-18 "B" size fittings, ensuring compatibility with all standard Grade R and Grade T twin welding hoses. Whether for scrap cutting, structural steel erection, or foundry work, this torch delivers consistent performance.
