The Uniweld 2290-5H Heating Head is a premium replacement tip designed for heavy-duty industrial heating applications. Modeled after the popular Harris 2290 style, this #5 size heating tip is engineered to work exclusively with alternate fuels such as Propane and Natural Gas. It is not designed for use with Acetylene. This distinction allows for a more economical operation in large-scale heating projects where fuel consumption is high.
Constructed from high-quality copper, the 2290-5H is built to withstand the intense thermal cycles of preheating, straightening, and bending thick steel plates. The multi-flame design ensures a broad, even heat distribution, preventing hot spots and ensuring uniform temperature rise across the workpiece. With a staggering heat output potential of 450,000 to 1,000,000 BTU/HR, this tip is capable of bringing large metal masses to working temperature rapidly.
Compatibility is key with the 2290-5H. It is designed to thread seamlessly onto Uniweld and Harris style tip elbows, specifically the 2310, 2316, and 2328 series. Due to the high volume of gas required to sustain the massive flame, it is strongly recommended to use 3/8-inch internal diameter hoses to prevent flow restriction and starvation, which can lead to overheating or backfires.
