The Miller Smith HBAS-30300 Heavy Duty Cutting Torch Outfit is a premium industrial solution designed for rigorous cutting, heating, and fabrication tasks. At the core of this system is the SC229 Heavy Duty Straight Cutting Torch, a 21-inch tool engineered with Smith's proprietary in-tip gas mixing technology. Unlike traditional torches that mix gases in the handle or tubes, the SC229 keeps oxygen and acetylene separate until they reach the tip. This design drastically reduces the risk of flashback and mixing tube burnout, enhancing operator safety in hazardous environments.

Precision Engineering and Durability

The outfit is built to withstand the demands of construction, shipyards, and rail repair. The torch features a three-tube construction with thick-wall stainless steel tubes for high gas flow and structural rigidity. The internal tube is silver-brazed for leak resistance and extra strength. A key technical advantage is the Graf-Tite soft seat cutting tips. These tips utilize a resilient seat material that protects the seating area from nicks and damage, ensuring a positive seal with hand-tightening alone. This eliminates the need for wrenches during tip changes and extends the lifespan of the torch head.

Comprehensive Regulator and Gas Control

Gas regulation is managed by the included Series 30 Medium Duty Regulators (30-100-540 for Oxygen and 30-15-300 for Acetylene). These regulators are equipped with 2-inch shatter-resistant polycarbonate gauges and a dual-filter design that protects the high-pressure seat from debris. The outfit is specifically configured with a CGA 300 inlet connection for acetylene cylinders, ensuring compatibility with commercial acetylene tanks requiring this specific valve type. The system is capable of cutting up to 1-1/4 inches of steel with the included SC12-1 tip and can be expanded to cut up to 12 inches with optional tips.
