Part of the Smith Equipment ST Series, this multi-flame tip is designed to deliver a massive heat output of approximately 71,750 BTU/hr, making it suitable for demanding tasks such as heat treating, heavy bending, and large-scale pre-heating. The tip features a size 71 orifice configuration with six flame ports (drill size 56), optimized to produce a concentrated, stable flame pattern that maximizes heat localization while maintaining fuel efficiency.

Operational parameters for the ST603 are critical for safety and performance. The tip requires an Acetylene fuel pressure of 15 PSIG and an Oxygen pressure of 15 PSIG. Oxygen consumption is rated at 55 SCFH (Standard Cubic Feet per Hour). Due to the high volume of acetylene required (approximately 50 SCFH), operators must adhere strictly to the 1/7th withdrawal rule. A single standard acetylene cylinder may not provide sufficient flow rates; therefore, manifolding cylinders is often essential to prevent acetone withdrawal and ensure safe operation. The tip is compatible with Smith heavy-duty torch handles, specifically models WH200, SW1A, and SW1B.
