Part of the renowned MW Series, this tip is engineered to deliver Smith's proprietary "Soft Flame," a flow characteristic that minimizes turbulence in the gas stream. This results in a stable, concentrated heat source that enhances puddle control and penetration without the erratic behavior often seen in standard tips. The MW203 is calibrated for a welding capacity of approximately 5/64 inch (2 mm), making it suitable for a wide range of fabrication and repair tasks.

Constructed from heavy-wall copper, the MW203 offers superior thermal conductivity and resistance to reflected heat. This design choice allows the tip to operate at cooler temperatures, extending its service life even under continuous use. The tip geometry features a 63-1/2 degree bend, providing optimal visibility and access to joints. A key mechanical feature is the "Slip-In" connection system.
