The Uniweld MTFM-5 Cap'n Hook Five Flame Brazing Tip is a specialized oxy-acetylene component engineered to deliver superior heat distribution for pipe joining applications. Designed primarily for the HVAC/R and plumbing industries, this tip features Uniweld's patented Cap'n Hook technology, which utilizes a curved multi-flame head to direct heat around the circumference of the workpiece. The MTFM-5 model is specifically calibrated for use with oxygen and acetylene gases, providing the high-intensity heat required for efficient brazing.

Technically, the tip incorporates five individual flame ports that create a concentrated heat zone capable of wrapping 100% around copper tubing. This design mitigates the issue of uneven heating often found with single-flame tips, ensuring that the brazing alloy flows smoothly and penetrates the joint capillary action effectively. The MTFM-5 is rated for brazing copper tubing with an outer diameter (O.D.) ranging from 1/2 inch to 1 inch, and for soft soldering applications on tubing from 1 inch to 2 inches O.D.
