The Smith WDW100 Gasaver™ is a precision-engineered gas economizer designed specifically for high-volume production environments utilizing Propylene and Oxygen fuel mixtures. In industrial brazing and welding operations, significant consumable waste occurs during torch start-up, shut-down, and the intervals between active flame applications. The WDW100 addresses this inefficiency by providing a mechanical shut-off valve integrated into a torch support arm. When the operator hangs the torch on the arm, the weight of the torch actuates the valve, instantly cutting off the flow of oxygen and fuel gas to the torch tip, extinguishing the main flame while maintaining a small, separate pilot flame.

This system eliminates the need for operators to manually close torch valves or readjust flame chemistry between cycles, ensuring consistent weld quality and reducing cycle times. To resume work, the operator simply lifts the torch from the arm; gas flow is automatically restored to the pre-set levels, and the tip is passed over the adjustable pilot light for immediate re-ignition. This seamless transition allows for rapid workflow without the downtime associated with flame tuning.
