The Miller Smith 310 Series Silverline High Purity Regulator is a single-stage pressure control device engineered specifically for the rigorous demands of analytical and process applications involving corrosive, non-corrosive, or toxic gases. Designed with a CGA 330 inlet, this regulator is optimized for service with gases such as Boron Trifluorate, Hydrogen Chloride, Hydrogen Sulfide, and other reactive media where material compatibility is critical. The unit features a body machined from 316 stainless steel bar stock, ensuring structural integrity and resistance to chemical attack.
To maintain the purity of the gas stream and prevent contamination, all wetted parts within the 310 Series are constructed from 316 Stainless Steel and PCTFE (Polychlorotrifluoroethylene). The seat assembly includes a 316 stainless steel filter, which not only protects the seating surface from particulate damage but also enhances the longevity of the regulator in harsh environments. The use of PCTFE for the seat material provides excellent mechanical properties and chemical resistance, ensuring a reliable shut-off even after repeated cycling.
At the heart of the regulator is a specially designed, convoluted 316 stainless steel diaphragm. This convolution allows for greater sensitivity and response to pressure changes compared to flat diaphragms, resulting in maximum accuracy and stable delivery pressure regulation (0-25 PSIG). The diaphragm utilizes a metal-to-metal seal against the body, eliminating the need for elastomeric seals that could outgas or degrade over time, thereby providing maximum leak integrity essential for high-purity systems.
Safety is paramount when handling hazardous gases. The Miller Smith 310 Series includes a captured vent port (1/16 inch FNPT) located in the bonnet. This feature allows operators to pipe vented gases away to a safe disposal system in the unlikely event of a diaphragm failure. Additionally, the regulator is capable of withstanding an internal vacuum, making it compatible with purge cycles necessary for maintaining system purity during cylinder changes. The unit is also designed for versatility in installation, featuring a threaded bonnet for front panel mounting and a tapped body for rear bracket mounting.
