The Lincoln Electric K2977-2XL SteelWorker Gloves are engineered to bridge the gap between heavy-duty material handling protection and the dexterity required for precision fabrication tasks. Unlike standard welding mitts which prioritize thermal insulation at the cost of movement, the SteelWorker series utilizes a composite leather construction. The palm is crafted from Top Grain Cowhide, a material selected for its high tensile strength and resistance to abrasion, punctures, and cuts commonly encountered when handling raw steel stock or operating grinding equipment.

To address the issue of heat buildup during extended wear, the dorsal side (back) of the glove is constructed from Goatskin. Goatskin is renowned in the PPE industry for its high lanolin content, which keeps the leather soft and pliable, as well as its superior breathability compared to split cowhide. This dual-material approach ensures that the user maintains tactile sensitivity and hand coolness, which is critical for safety and efficiency in industrial environments.

Structural integrity is maintained through the use of Nomex thread stitching throughout the glove. Nomex is inherently flame-resistant and does not melt or drip when exposed to high temperatures, ensuring the seams hold even in the presence of sparks or minor spatter. The glove also features an ergonomic padded palm to absorb vibration from power tools and reduce hand fatigue.
