The Black Stallion Angel Fire LS50-M is a purpose-built personal protective equipment (PPE) solution designed to address the specific ergonomic requirements of female welders engaged in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), commonly known as Stick welding. Unlike unisex gloves that often result in excess material at the fingertips and loose palms for women, the LS50-M is constructed on patterns tailored to narrower hand widths and shorter finger lengths, ensuring a snug and safe fit that improves tool control and safety.

Material selection is critical in the design of the LS50-M. The palm is fabricated from premium grain pigskin. Pigskin is renowned in industrial applications for its breathability and resistance to hardening after exposure to moisture and thermal cycling. This ensures that the glove maintains its flexibility over time, a crucial factor for maintaining dexterity during electrode manipulation. Conversely, the back of the glove—which faces the highest radiant heat load during welding—is constructed from split cowhide. This heavier leather provides a robust thermal barrier, protecting the dorsal side of the hand from sparks and spatter.

Structural integrity is maintained through the use of Kevlar stitching throughout the glove. Kevlar provides high tensile strength and inherent flame resistance, preventing seam failure under high-heat conditions. Furthermore, the glove features Black Stallion's exclusive DragPatch reinforcement. This additional layer of leather is strategically placed on the side of the hand (the hypothenar eminence), which is frequently dragged across work surfaces or rests against the workpiece. This reinforcement mitigates abrasion wear, significantly extending the service life of the glove. The back of the glove is also fully lined, adding an extra layer of insulation to delay heat transfer to the user's skin.
