The 3M Organic Vapor Cartridge/Filter 60921 is a highly versatile respiratory protection solution designed for industrial environments where workers are exposed to multiple hazards simultaneously. This combination unit integrates a standard organic vapor cartridge with a P100 particulate filter, offering comprehensive defense against certain organic vapors as well as non-oil and oil-based particulates. It is NIOSH-approved and assigned the color code Magenta/Black, indicating its dual-purpose capabilities.

Engineered for compatibility, the 60921 utilizes 3M's standard bayonet attachment system, making it suitable for use with 3M™ Half and Full Facepieces in the 6000, 7000, and FF-400 Series. This interchangeability simplifies safety inventory management by allowing a single cartridge type to service various mask bodies across a facility. The swept-back design of the cartridge is intentional, improving balance on the facepiece and maintaining a wide field of vision, which is critical for precision tasks in laboratories or manufacturing lines.

In terms of filtration efficiency, the P100 component provides 99.97% filtration against particulates, meeting the highest NIOSH rating for particulate filters. This makes it effective for environments containing dusts, mists, fumes, and radionuclides. The organic vapor component handles solvents and chemical vapors often found in painting, pesticide application, and chemical processing. It is rated for concentrations up to 10 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) with half facepieces or 50 times the PEL with quantitatively fit-tested full facepieces. Note that this cartridge is not intended for use in IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health) environments.
