The ESAB Contact Paste (0192058101) is a specialized chemical formulation designed to address one of the most critical yet overlooked aspects of MIG and TIG welding: the electrical interface between consumable components. In high-amperage welding applications, even microscopic gaps or oxidation between the contact tip, gas diffuser, and torch neck can create significant electrical resistance. This resistance manifests as heat—excessive heat that degrades consumables, causes micro-arcing, and leads to premature failure of the torch front-end parts.
