The Miller 262707 Universal Teflon Liner Kit is an essential maintenance component designed to address the specific challenges of welding with soft aluminum alloys. In MIG welding applications utilizing push-pull or spool gun systems, the friction coefficient between the wire and the liner is a critical variable. Standard steel liners can cause abrasion on soft aluminum wires (such as 4043 or 5356 series), leading to the generation of micro-shavings. These shavings accumulate within the liner and contact tip, causing erratic arc characteristics, burn-backs, and eventual birdnesting.

This kit features liners manufactured from high-grade Teflon, a material chosen for its exceptionally low friction and chemical inertness. By providing a smooth, non-abrasive path for the wire, these liners significantly reduce drag and prevent the mechanical deformation of the wire surface.
