The Miller N-M5818C is a high-performance copper MIG welding nozzle engineered specifically for the AccuLock™ MDX™ consumable system found on Miller MDX-250 and MDX-250 EZ-Select™ MIG guns. This component is critical for maintaining the integrity of the shielding gas envelope and ensuring consistent wire feeding characteristics. The nozzle features a 5/8-inch (15.9 mm) bore orifice, which is ideal for general-purpose welding applications where adequate gas flow is required to prevent porosity, particularly at higher amperages supported by the MDX-250 platform.

Constructed from high-grade copper, this nozzle offers excellent thermal conductivity, rapidly dissipating heat generated during the welding arc to prevent overheating and spatter adhesion. The 1/8-inch (3.2 mm) tip recess is a strategic design specification that places the contact tip slightly back from the nozzle exit. This recess helps protect the contact tip from radiant heat and reduces the likelihood of short-circuiting against the workpiece, while still maintaining good electrical stick-out visibility.

A defining feature of the AccuLock™ MDX™ nozzle is its thread-on connection mechanism. Unlike slip-on nozzles that rely on friction rings or springs, the N-M5818C threads securely onto the D-M250 diffuser. It utilizes a coarse thread design that resists cross-threading and seizing. Furthermore, the system incorporates a steel retaining ring on the mating diffuser which ensures the nozzle stays tight despite thermal expansion and contraction cycles. This mechanical locking action also serves to center and lock the gun liner in position, eliminating gaps in the wire-feed path that often lead to bird-nesting or erratic arc performance.

This package contains two (2) nozzles, ensuring operators have a replacement on hand to minimize downtime. The N-M5818C is compatible exclusively with the MDX-250 series and is not interchangeable with AccuLock™ S series consumables used on larger industrial guns.
