It features a standard 5/8-inch (15.9 mm) inner diameter, which provides a balanced and consistent shielding gas envelope suitable for a wide range of wire diameters and transfer modes, including spray transfer and pulsed MIG welding.

A defining characteristic of the KP2743-1-62R is its 1/8-inch recessed tip geometry. By positioning the contact tip slightly inside the nozzle bore, the design offers enhanced protection against radiant arc heat and direct spatter impact. This configuration is particularly advantageous in high-amperage welding where the arc intensity is greatest, helping to extend the operational lifespan of the contact tip and reducing the frequency of consumable changes required during a shift.
