The Tweco 26FC150 is a specialized welding nozzle designed explicitly for Self-Shielded Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW-S) applications. Unlike Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) nozzles, which are engineered to direct a laminar flow of shielding gas over the weld pool, the 26FC150 serves primarily as a protective housing for the contact tip and gas diffuser. By eliminating the gas funneling requirement, this nozzle features a geometry optimized for spatter resistance and component protection rather than gas coverage.

Manufactured from high-grade brass alloy, the nozzle offers excellent thermal conductivity and resistance to mechanical wear. It is designed to fit the industry-standard Tweco Professional No. 2 series MIG guns, as well as compatible systems from other manufacturers that utilize the Tweco style front-end consumables. The nozzle utilizes a slip-on connection mechanism, interfacing securely with the standard 32 series insulator. This ensures proper electrical isolation from the contact tip, preventing accidental arcing should the nozzle contact the workpiece.

The "FC" designation indicates its specific utility for flux core processes. In these applications, the absence of shielding gas means the nozzle does not need to seal against the diffuser for gas integrity. Instead, it acts as a barrier, preventing molten spatter from adhering to the threads of the conductor tube or the gas diffuser itself. This extends the service life of the gun's front-end parts and reduces downtime associated with cleaning. The 1/2-inch bore provides ample clearance for the wire and allows for easy removal of accumulated spatter.
