The Tweco® 450 Amp Smoke Master® is a premium air-cooled MIG gun designed specifically for heavy-industrial applications where fume control is critical. Engineered to handle high-amperage welding up to 450 amps, this gun excels in spray transfer and pulse spray modes, making it an ideal choice for structural steel, heavy equipment manufacturing, and shipbuilding. The unit features a Miller® style rear connection, ensuring immediate compatibility with a wide range of existing power sources and wire feeders without the need for complex adapters.

At the core of the Smoke Master's design is its ability to remove up to 90% of welding smoke from the immediate welding zone. This is achieved through a patent-pending design that integrates a 1-3/8" inside diameter PVC reinforced vacuum hose directly into the cable assembly. The vacuum system not only extracts harmful particulates but also draws surrounding air over the front-end consumables, providing an auxiliary cooling effect that extends the life of the nozzle and contact tip. The outer metal-plated insulated smoke tube ensures durability and efficient airflow management right at the arc.

Durability and maintenance are key focuses of the Tweco Smoke Master series. The cable assembly is protected by a tough outer jacket made from leather, which offers superior resistance to weld spatter, heat, and abrasion compared to standard rubber jackets. This increased flexibility allows for easier maneuvering in tight spaces. Internally, the gun utilizes the proven abrasion and heat-resistant Cablehoz®, which includes spare trigger leads to minimize downtime in the event of a wire break. The gun is completely field repairable, allowing maintenance teams to replace components like the Cablehoz or trigger switch without discarding the entire assembly.

This specific model comes setup for 1/16" (1.6mm) wire and includes a 15-foot cable, providing ample reach for large weldments. The ergonomic handle is designed to reduce operator fatigue during long shifts, featuring an extended trigger and a low bench weight. A convenient slide valve located on the handle allows the welder to manually regulate the vacuum suction, giving them control over the extraction rate to prevent shielding gas disturbance in drafty conditions or tight corners.
