The Tweco 1160-1767 (Model VTHA-116) is a premium heavy-duty contact tip designed for the Velocity™ consumable platform. Engineered for industrial MIG welding applications utilizing 1/16-inch (1.6mm) wire, this tip represents a significant evolution in arc welding technology. Unlike traditional threaded contact tips, the Velocity series utilizes a threadless, drop-in design that integrates directly with the gas diffuser. This cam-lock mechanism ensures a secure electrical connection while eliminating the risk of cross-threading or seizing, common issues in high-heat environments.

Manufactured from high-grade solid copper, the VTHA-116 is optimized for thermal efficiency. The "Heavy Duty Tapered" (VTHA) profile provides a substantial thermal mass to absorb and dissipate heat generated during high-amperage spray transfer or pulsed MIG welding, while the tapered front end maintains excellent visibility and access to tight joints. The tip features integrated gas ports that work in unison with the Velocity nozzle to streamline shielding gas flow, reducing turbulence and minimizing porosity in the weld pool.
