The Thermal Dynamics 8-7508 Gas Distributor is a critical component designed specifically for plasma gouging applications. Unlike standard cutting distributors which focus the plasma arc for a narrow kerf and deep severance, this gouging distributor modulates the gas flow to produce a wider, less constricted arc. This modification allows the plasma stream to effectively melt and wash away base material without cutting through it, making it ideal for weld removal, defect repair, and edge preparation.

Manufactured to precise OEM specifications, the 8-7508 ensures optimal alignment between the electrode and the gouging tip. This alignment is crucial for maintaining a stable arc and preventing premature wear of the torch head components. The distributor acts as a swirl ring, imparting a specific centrifugal velocity to the plasma gas. This swirling action cools the consumables and centers the arc, providing the control necessary for precise depth management during gouging operations.
