The Hypertherm Powermax45 XP (088112) represents the next generation of the best-selling Powermax line, engineered to deliver high-performance cutting, gouging, and marking capabilities in a compact form factor. This specific configuration is equipped with a 20-foot (6.1 m) Duramax Lock hand torch and operates on single-phase 200-240 V input power. It is designed without a CPC port, making it a cost-effective solution dedicated to manual cutting applications where CNC interface connectivity is not required.

At the core of the Powermax45 XP is Hypertherm's Smart Sense™ technology, which automatically monitors and adjusts air pressure based on the cutting mode and torch lead length. This innovation eliminates the need for manual regulator adjustments, ensuring consistent cut quality and maximizing consumable life. The system boasts a recommended cut capacity of 5/8 inch (16 mm) on mild steel at 20 inches per minute, with a severance capacity reaching up to 1-1/8 inches (29 mm), providing substantial power for a 45-amp machine.

The included Duramax Lock torch is designed for high-impact environments and features a disable switch for safe and rapid consumable replacement. The torch interface supports a wide range of consumable types, allowing operators to switch seamlessly between standard cutting, fine feature cutting, gouging, and metal marking. The system's drag-cutting technology allows the nozzle to be dragged directly on the metal surface without double-arcing, significantly reducing operator fatigue and improving cut precision.
