In plasma cutting applications, the torch head is subjected to extreme temperatures and high-voltage potentials necessary to ionize gas and create the plasma arc. The 21510 insulator serves as a barrier, preventing the high-voltage current from arcing to the torch body or other non-conductive components, which could lead to catastrophic failure of the torch handle or operator injury.
