The Generic 45V43 Gas Lens is a precision-engineered TIG welding consumable designed to optimize shielding gas distribution for 1/16-inch (1.6mm) tungsten electrodes. Specifically manufactured for compatibility with the 'small' series of TIG torches—including the 9, 20, 22, 24, and 25 series (often designated as WP-9, WP-20, etc.)—this component replaces standard collet bodies to introduce laminar flow to the shielding gas stream.

Unlike standard collet bodies which can create turbulent gas flow, the 45V43 utilizes a multi-layer fine mesh screen system. This screen acts as a diffuser, straightening the flow of argon or helium as it exits the ceramic cup. The result is a coherent, columnar stream of gas that provides superior coverage of the weld pool, even at greater distances from the nozzle. This technical advantage allows operators to extend the tungsten electrode significantly farther (stick-out) without compromising the inert atmosphere required to prevent oxidation.

Constructed from high-durability brass and stainless steel mesh, this gas lens is built to withstand the thermal cycling inherent in TIG welding processes.
