The Miller W-500 Pencil Automation Torch Kit (WP-18P-12) is a premium water-cooled TIG welding solution designed specifically for mechanized and automated welding applications. Formerly known as the Weldcraft WP-18P, this torch body features a straight, pencil-style geometry that allows for precise mounting in fixtures, robotic arms, or linear welding carriages. Engineered for high-performance industrial environments, the W-500 is rated at 500 Amps DC and 350 Amps AC at 100% duty cycle, making it capable of handling the most demanding continuous welding operations without overheating.

One of the critical engineering advantages of the W-500 is its versatile tungsten loading system. Operators can load and adjust the tungsten electrode from either the front or the back of the torch. This feature is invaluable in automation setups where the front of the torch may be inaccessible due to fixture constraints or proximity to the workpiece. By allowing rear adjustment, the torch position relative to the weld seam remains undisturbed during consumable changes, significantly reducing setup time and ensuring repeatability.

This kit includes a 12.5-foot (3.8 meter) cable assembly encased in durable vinyl.
