The 53N87 is a high-performance alumina ceramic nozzle designed specifically for TIG welding applications requiring superior shielding gas coverage. Classified as a size #12 cup, it features a 3/4-inch (19mm) bore diameter, making it one of the larger standard nozzles available for hand-held TIG torches. This nozzle is engineered to interface with Large Diameter Gas Lens collet bodies (such as the 45V series for 17/18/26 torches and specific large lens setups for 9/20 torches). The use of a gas lens system, combined with this wide-bore nozzle, creates a laminar gas flow that significantly reduces turbulence compared to standard collet body setups. This laminar flow is critical when welding reactive metals like titanium, aluminum, and stainless steel, where atmospheric contamination must be minimized.
Manufactured from high-grade alumina oxide, this nozzle exhibits excellent thermal shock resistance and dielectric strength.
