The Weldcraft WP-23A, also known within the Miller family as the A-150 Automation Series torch body, is a specialized component designed for mechanized TIG welding applications. Engineered for precision and consistency, this torch body features a 7-inch (178mm) barrel length, which is a standard dimension for many fixture-mounted welding systems. The unit is rated at 150 Amps DC and 115 Amps AC at a 60% duty cycle, making it suitable for light-to-medium duty fabrication tasks involving materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel.

This torch body utilizes an air-cooled (gas-cooled) system, relying on the shielding gas flow and ambient air to dissipate heat. This design choice significantly reduces the complexity of the welding cell by eliminating the requirement for external water coolers and associated plumbing. The head features a 180-degree (straight) configuration, often referred to as a pencil torch, which allows for vertical access into tight spaces and ensures the electrode is perfectly aligned with the weld seam in automated tracking systems.

Constructed with high-temperature resistant materials, the WP-23A is built to withstand the radiant heat generated during continuous welding cycles.
