The VTR26V is a specialized replacement torch body designed for the 26-series family of air-cooled TIG torches. This component is engineered to meet the rigorous demands of industrial welding environments, providing a reliable conductive path and structural integrity for the torch assembly. The defining feature of this specific model is the integrated manual gas control valve located on the torch body itself. This valve mechanism allows the operator to manually open and close the shielding gas flow, a critical requirement when utilizing power sources that lack an internal gas solenoid, such as basic stick welding inverters or engine-driven generators adapted for TIG welding processes.

Technically, the body is rated for an amperage output of approximately 200 Amps DC and 150 Amps AC at a 60% duty cycle, consistent with standard WP-26 specifications. The internal construction utilizes high-grade copper alloys to ensure efficient current transfer from the power cable to the tungsten electrode, minimizing resistive heating within the head itself. The exterior is molded with high-dielectric silicone rubber, which provides essential insulation against high-frequency starts and protects the welder from electrical shock while offering resistance to radiant heat and spatter.

The VTR26V utilizes standard industry threading, making it compatible with a wide array of existing handles and power cable assemblies. It is designed to accept the full range of 26-series front-end consumables, including 10N series collets, collet bodies, and alumina cups, as well as 57Y series back caps. This cross-compatibility ensures that the VTR26V can be seamlessly integrated into existing inventory systems without the need for proprietary consumables. The rigid head geometry provides a fixed angle for the electrode, offering stability and precision for bench work and pipe welding where a flexible neck is not required.
