The Cougartron CGT-350 Weld Cleaning Fluid is a specialized electrolyte solution engineered for the electrochemical cleaning and passivation of stainless steel surfaces. Formulated to work in conjunction with Cougartron weld cleaning machines, this fluid facilitates the removal of iron oxides, heat tint, and discoloration generated during the welding process, particularly in TIG applications. The chemical composition is balanced to provide effective cleaning power while maintaining a safety profile that classifies it as a non-dangerous good. This distinction is critical for logistics, as it permits the fluid to be transported via air freight without the stringent hazardous material restrictions associated with stronger pickling acids or more aggressive electrolytes like the CGT-550.

Upon application under an electrical current, the CGT-350 fluid activates to dissolve surface impurities and restore the chromium oxide passive layer on the stainless steel. This passivation process is essential for maintaining the corrosion resistance of the base material in the heat-affected zone (HAZ).
