The Cantesco CF2-1G is a specialized heat transfer fluid engineered specifically for closed-loop cooling systems in industrial welding applications. Formulated with a propylene glycol base, this coolant provides freeze protection down to -14°C (6°F), making it classified as a "Mid-Range" thermal protection fluid suitable for indoor shop environments and moderate climate transport. The fluid is pre-mixed and ready for immediate use, ensuring the correct specific gravity and viscosity are maintained without the variability introduced by on-site dilution.

A critical technical characteristic of the CF2 formulation is its low electrical conductivity. In High-Frequency (HF) TIG welding and plasma arc cutting processes, high voltage is utilized to initiate the arc. Fluids with high ionic content (such as tap water or standard automotive antifreeze) can conduct this high voltage away from the torch head, leading to hard starting, arc wandering, or catastrophic failure of the torch power cable and internal machine components. Cantesco CF2 maintains a high dielectric strength to isolate the cooling circuit from the welding current.

The chemical composition includes a robust inhibitor package designed to passivate metal surfaces within the cooling loop. It is compatible with common materials found in welding pumps and torches, including brass, copper, stainless steel, aluminum, and various elastomers used in O-rings and seals. This prevents galvanic corrosion and electrolytic attack, which are common causes of premature pump failure and flow restrictions.
