The Walter Chain Gang™ is a scientifically engineered synthetic lubricant designed to address the specific tribological challenges found in industrial chain drives and wire rope applications. Unlike conventional mineral oils that often sit on the surface, Chain Gang utilizes a low-viscosity carrier solvent that allows the lubricant to penetrate deep into the tightest tolerances of chain pins, bushings, and the inner strands of wire ropes. Once applied, the solvent evaporates, leaving behind a robust, high-viscosity synthetic film fortified with microscopic molybdenum disulfide (moly) particles. This solid lubricant additive significantly enhances the load-carrying capacity of the film, ensuring smooth operation even under extreme pressure and shock-loading conditions.

One of the primary failure modes for industrial chains is the accumulation of abrasive particulates. Traditional greases and tacky oils act as magnets for dust, sand, and metallic grit, creating a grinding paste that accelerates wear. Walter Chain Gang is formulated to dry to a non-tacky finish that actively repels these contaminants, maintaining a clean operating environment for the mechanical components.
