OVERVIEW

High-Efficiency Power Transmission

The Best Welds BWCCF is a premium LC-40 style female cable connector designed to maintain the integrity of your welding circuit. In any welding operation, the quality of the secondary circuit connections is paramount to arc stability and machine performance. This connector utilizes a precision-machined copper alloy body that maximizes surface area contact, ensuring efficient current transfer with minimal resistance. By reducing voltage drop at the connection point, the BWCCF helps maintain consistent arc characteristics even over long cable runs.

Robust Cam-Lock Mechanism

Engineered with a positive cam-lock design, this connector provides a secure mechanical bond that resists loosening due to cable tugging or vibration. When mated with a corresponding male connector, the cam action pulls the two halves tightly together, creating a high-pressure contact zone. This design is critical for high-amperage applications (rated up to 500 Amps) where loose connections can lead to dangerous arcing, overheating, and premature failure of the cable interface.

Versatile and Durable Construction

The BWCCF is designed to accommodate a broad range of cable sizes, from #1 AWG up to 4/0 AWG, making it a versatile solution for mixed fleets of welding equipment. The connection to the cable strand is secured via a large oval-point screw, which applies high compression without severing the fine copper strands of welding cable. The assembly is encased in a heavy-duty, insulating rubber sleeve. This cover is formulated to withstand the harsh realities of industrial environments, offering excellent resistance to heat, spatter, oil, and ozone degradation. The black color coding assists in maintaining proper polarity identification across the shop floor.

FAQ

The BWCCF is designed to accept welding cables ranging from #1 AWG up to 4/0 AWG.

No, the BWCCF is an LC-40 style connector (Lenco compatible) which uses a cam-lock action. It is not directly compatible with Tweco MPC style connectors unless an adapter is used.

This connector is generally rated for up to 500 Amps, depending on the size of the cable used and the duty cycle.

Strip the cable insulation, insert the bare copper into the connector body, and tighten the provided oval-point set screw using an Allen wrench. Then slide the rubber cover over the assembly.

Functionally, the black and red connectors are identical. However, industry standard typically uses Black for the work/ground lead and Red for the electrode/stinger lead to identify polarity.

The BWCCF is the Female half of the connection. It accepts the male pin (BWCCM).

Most LC-40 style connectors include a copper shim to wrap around smaller gauge wires (like #1 or 1/0) before tightening the screw to ensure a tight fit.

While physically possible, special care must be taken with aluminum cable due to oxidation and cold flow. Using an antioxidant compound is highly recommended, though these connectors are primarily designed for copper cable.
