The 3M Speedglas Inside Protection Plate (06-0200-30) is a critical consumable designed specifically for the Speedglas 9100XX Auto-Darkening Filter (ADF). This product corresponds to 3M ID 70-0715-1017-9. These plates serve as the final barrier between the welder's eyes and the sophisticated electronics of the ADF, while simultaneously protecting the glass surface of the filter from the inside.
Over time, inside cover lenses become pitted, scratched, or clouded due to cleaning, sweat, and general shop dust. A damaged inside plate can create distracting glare or blur the welder's view of the puddle, negating the benefits of the high-quality 9100XX optics. Regular replacement is essential for maintaining the EN379 1/1/1/2 optical class rating that Speedglas is famous for.
These plates are sized specifically for the "XX" model (Extra Large) of the 9100 series. They will not fit the 9100V or 9100X filters, nor will they fit older 9000 series helmets.
