The Miller 280078 Replacement Lens Assembly is the OEM heart of the Digital Infinity™ Series welding helmets. Designed to replace a damaged or malfunctioning auto-darkening filter (ADF), this unit restores the helmet's industry-leading specifications. The assembly features Miller's proprietary ClearLight™ Lens Technology, which optimizes contrast and clarity in both welding and light states. By allowing more colors of the visible light spectrum to pass through the lens when not darkened, ClearLight provides a 1/1/1/2 optical clarity rating, significantly reducing eye strain during prolonged fabrication sessions.

This lens assembly boasts the largest viewing area in the industry at 13.4 square inches, providing an expansive field of view that improves situational awareness and weld puddle control. It is equipped with four independent arc sensors that ensure rapid switching speeds of 1/20,000 of a second, preventing arc flash even in obstructed welding positions. The digital interface allows for precise adjustments of shade, sensitivity, and delay, ensuring the lens is perfectly tuned to the specific amperage and process being used.

A critical feature of this assembly is X-Mode™. Unlike standard optical sensors that can be triggered by sunlight or obstructed by pipes and fixtures, X-Mode electromagnetically senses the welding arc. This ensures the lens darkens only when an arc is present, making it ideal for outdoor work or low-amperage TIG welding where sensors might otherwise be blocked. The unit also includes InfoTrack™ technology, which records arc time and features a timer, aiding in productivity tracking and job costing. This is a direct-fit replacement for all Miller Digital Infinity shell designs.
