The Fibre-Metal 990 Series welding helmet (SKU: FM990BLU) is engineered for heavy-duty industrial applications requiring robust thermal and impact protection. The shell is injection-molded from Noryl®, a high-performance thermoplastic known for its exceptional heat resistance and dimensional stability. Unlike standard polyethylene shells, Noryl retains its structural integrity in high-temperature environments, making this helmet suitable for high-amperage welding and overhead applications where spatter and radiant heat are significant factors.

This model features a 4-1/2" x 5-1/4" (4x5) window equipped with a lift-front mechanism. The telescoping lid provides a tight seal against light leaks when closed, ensuring full UV/IR protection for the operator. The lift-front capability allows for immediate viewing of the weld pool and workpiece setup without the need to raise the entire helmet assembly, thereby maintaining respiratory protection and reducing neck strain.
