The 3M Speedglas 9100 Air Welding Helmet with Adflo Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) is a comprehensive safety solution designed for professional industrial environments. This system (SKU: 35-1101-30iSW-CA) integrates the proven ergonomics of the 9100 Air helmet shell with the advanced filtration capabilities of the Adflo turbo unit. The primary component of the optical system is the Speedglas 9100XXi Auto-Darkening Filter (ADF), which offers a variable shade range of 5, 8, and 9 through 13, making it suitable for most arc welding processes including Stick, MIG, and TIG.
The Adflo PAPR unit is designed to provide a nominal protection factor (NPF) of approximately 25, effectively filtering out welding fumes and particulates via a High Efficiency (HE) filter stack. The unit maintains a constant airflow rate, adjustable between 170 and 200 liters per minute, regardless of battery charge or filter loading, ensuring consistent positive pressure within the headtop to keep contaminants out. The included Lithium-Ion battery offers a significant weight reduction compared to older NiMH models and provides an operating duration of approximately 7 to 9 hours, covering a standard shift.
Optically, the 9100XXi lens features 3M's Natural Color Technology, which improves color recognition and contrast, allowing for better control of the weld puddle. The lens provides a large viewing area of 2.8" x 4.2".
