The Miller Filtair Capture 5 (951575) is a high-performance mobile fume extraction system engineered to address the rigorous demands of industrial welding environments. At the core of this system is Miller's exclusive ZoneFlow™ technology, which redefines the capture zone. Unlike traditional source capture arms that require close proximity to the arc, ZoneFlow creates a negative pressure zone that funnels air to the center of the arm from distances up to 5 feet. This extended capture range significantly improves efficacy in dynamic welding setups where precise arm positioning can be challenging.

FilTek XL Filtration & MERV 15 Rating

Filtration efficiency is paramount in the Capture 5 design. It utilizes FilTek® XL Filter Technology, specifically developed for welding fumes rather than general dust. These surface-loading filters prevent particulate from embedding deep within the media, a common issue with depth-loading cellulose filters. Rated at MERV 15, the system effectively captures up to 95% of weld fume particulate, including sub-micron particles found in hexavalent chromium and manganese fumes. This high efficiency ensures compliance with strict air quality standards while maintaining optimal airflow.

Automated Maintenance & Durability

To ensure consistent performance and reduce downtime, the Capture 5 features an automatic filter cleaning mechanism. Every time the machine is powered down, a pulse cleaning cycle activates, using compressed air to dislodge particulate from the filter media from the inside out. The debris is deposited into a dedicated disposal bin, simplifying maintenance. The unit is powered by a robust 5 HP motor delivering a nominal airflow of 900 CFM. The 12-foot extraction arm is constructed from aluminum and steel, featuring external adjustments to minimize airflow resistance and maximize suction power.

Industrial Mobility and Integration

Designed for the shop floor, the unit is mounted on a heavy-duty metal cabinet with lockable swivel casters and large rear wheels, allowing for easy transport between workstations. The system operates on 460V 3-phase power, making it suitable for heavy industrial facilities.
