The Lincoln Electric Prism® Mobile with Mechanized Cleaning (K1741-4) is a low-vacuum welding fume extraction system engineered for efficiency and longevity in industrial environments. Designed to address the air quality needs of smaller manufacturing facilities, fabrication shops, and training centers, this unit combines high-capacity filtration with intelligent maintenance features. At the core of its performance is the MERV 16 main filter, capable of capturing up to 95% of airborne contaminants as small as 0.3 to 1 micron. This level of filtration ensures that hazardous particulate matter generated during MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored welding is effectively removed from the breathing zone.

A defining feature of the K1741-4 is the RotaPulse® automatic filter cleaning system. Unlike static systems that require frequent manual filter changes, the RotaPulse® mechanism utilizes a compressed air connection to periodically pulse the filter, dislodging accumulated particulate into a collection bin. This mechanized cleaning process significantly extends the life of the main filter—up to four times longer than models without cleaning systems—thereby reducing downtime and operational costs. The unit also includes an internal spark arrestor that functions as a pre-filter, providing a critical layer of protection against fire hazards by preventing sparks from reaching the main filter media.

The system delivers a generous airflow capacity of approximately 735 CFM (750 SCFM), though actual performance depends on the specific extraction arm configuration and maintenance status. A color-coded filter status indicator is integrated into the unit, offering operators an immediate visual reference for filter health. The Prism Mobile is built for versatility; its chassis is mounted on front casters and sturdy rear wheels, allowing for easy maneuverability around the shop floor. It operates on standard 120V, single-phase power, making it compatible with most facility electrical infrastructures. Note that while this unit excels at welding fume extraction, it is not designed for cutting or arc gouging operations.
