FAQ

The MWX-S uses a pulse cleaning cycle. When connected to dry compressed air, you press a button on the control panel to activate a one-minute cycle that blasts air from the inside out, dislodging dust from the filter surface into a disposal drawer.

The FilTek XL filter has a MERV 15 rating, which means it is highly efficient at capturing sub-micron particles, filtering up to 95% of weld fume particulates.

The fume extractor runs on 115V electricity for suction. However, dry compressed air is required specifically to operate the self-cleaning mechanism.

This specific package (951511) comes with a pre-assembled 10-foot (3 meter) extraction arm.

While it can capture some dust, the FILTAIR MWX-S is specifically designed for welding fumes. Heavy grinding dust may require a different type of filtration or spark arrestor system to prevent fire hazards.
