High-Efficiency MERV 16 Filtration

At the core of the Prism system is its advanced filtration capability. The unit utilizes a MERV 16 Nano filter set (KP2752-16), which is engineered to capture 95% or more of particles in the 0.3 to 1.0 micron range. This level of filtration is critical for trapping the fine metallic oxides found in welding fumes. To protect the primary filters and extend their service life, the system includes an integrated spark arrestor and a pre-filter (KP1673-6) that captures larger particulates and mitigates fire risks by deadening sparks before they reach the filter media.

Unlike static filter units that require frequent manual changing, the Prism's self-cleaning mechanism dislodges accumulated dust from the filter media, depositing it into a collection bin for easy disposal. This maintains optimal airflow and significantly reduces consumable costs over time. Furthermore, the inclusion of the K1669-4 Arc Sensor/Lamp Kit introduces intelligent automation to the workspace. The sensor detects the welding arc and automatically activates the fan, ensuring extraction is present exactly when needed while conserving energy during downtime.

The included K1655-8 flexible extraction arm extends 10 feet, providing a wide operational radius that allows the welder to position the hood precisely over the weld pool without obstruction.
