It helps control distortion and prevents burn-through while maintaining excellent penetration. Additionally, the panel features a Downslope Timer. This function gradually ramps down the amperage at the end of a weld, allowing the crater to fill properly and solidify without cracking—a common defect in sudden arc terminations. The inclusion of 2-step and 4-step trigger sequencing further enhances operator comfort during long welds by eliminating the need to hold the torch trigger continuously.

Enhanced Stick Welding Performance

The utility of the K2621-1 extends beyond TIG processes. For Stick (SMAW) welding, it provides internal panel controls for Adjustable Hot Start and Arc Force. Hot Start provides a temporary boost of current during arc initiation, ensuring reliable starts without electrode sticking or porosity. Arc Force (or Dig) adjusts the arc characteristics to prevent the electrode from sticking in the puddle during tight fit-ups or when using difficult electrodes.
