The Lincoln Electric LF-72 Wire Feeder (K2327-4) is a robust, semi-automatic wire feeding unit engineered for heavy-duty industrial applications. Designed to operate with a wide variety of Lincoln Electric power sources, this bench-model feeder utilizes 24-42 VAC auxiliary power to deliver consistent and precise wire feeding performance. At the core of the LF-72 is the patented MAXTRAC® wire drive system. This heavy-duty, cast aluminum drive assembly features a dual gear-driven design that ensures positive traction on the welding wire, significantly reducing the risk of slippage or bird-nesting, even under demanding conditions.

The unit is rated for a 60% duty cycle at 500 amps, making it suitable for high-amperage MIG and flux-cored welding processes found in manufacturing, heavy fabrication, and structural steel environments. The K2327-4 Base Model is supplied without a welding gun, allowing facility managers and welding engineers to configure the setup with the specific Magnum® PRO or specialty guns required for their unique applications. The feeder supports a broad wire feed speed range of 50 to 800 inches per minute (1.3 to 20.3 m/min), accommodating fine control for thin gauge materials as well as high-deposition rates for heavy plate welding.

Technical reliability is further enhanced by the unit's construction. It features brass-to-brass electrode connections which provide superior electrical conductivity and arc stability compared to standard copper-to-aluminum connections. The internal control board is potted to protect sensitive electronics from metal dust, moisture, and vibration common in industrial shop floors. The split wire guide system supports the full range of wire diameters—from .023 inch (0.6 mm) solid wire up to 5/64 inch (2.0 mm) cored wire—ensuring versatility across different welding procedures. This unit requires a control cable and drive roll kit (sold separately) to complete the installation.
