The Lincoln Electric HyperFill® Dual Feeder Ready-Pak® (K4650-1) represents a paradigm shift in heavy fabrication productivity. This comprehensive package is engineered to deploy the patent-pending HyperFill® twin-wire MIG solution, which utilizes two smaller diameter wires (typically 0.035" or 0.040") to generate a single, larger arc cone. By combining the physics of two wires with a specific waveform generated by a compatible Power Wave® power source, the system achieves deposition rates exceeding 18 lbs/hr (8.2 kg/hr) while maintaining arc stability and ease of puddle control often lost in traditional high-amperage regimes.
At the core of this Ready-Pak is the Flex Feed® 84 Dual Wire Feeder. This industrial-grade bench feeder utilizes digital ArcLink® communication to synchronize perfectly with Lincoln Electric Power Wave® power sources (such as the S500 or S700). The dual-head configuration offers exceptional versatility, allowing operators to dedicate one side to the high-deposition HyperFill process while reserving the other for standard GMAW or FCAW applications, or to run two different wire types. The feeder features four user-programmable memories, process limits, and lockout capabilities to ensure quality control in production environments.
The package includes the Magnum® PRO Curve™ HDE™ 500 Gun, specifically configured for HyperFill applications. Unlike complex tandem-arc torches that require heavy water cooling and dual cables, the HDE™ 500 utilizes a single cable and liner system to feed both wires simultaneously. The gun is rated for 100% duty cycle at 500 amps, ensuring it can withstand the thermal demands of continuous high-deposition welding. The included HyperFill drive roll kit and contact tips are precision-engineered to feed two wires through a single contact point without tangling or arc interference, producing a wide, smooth bead profile with excellent wash-in characteristics.
For the welding engineer, the K4650-1 offers a solution to the "productivity vs. quality" trade-off. The HyperFill process allows for faster travel speeds and higher deposition rates than single-wire processes, yet it operates at lower voltages than comparable large-diameter wire procedures, reducing heat input and distortion. The wide arc cone also improves gap bridging capabilities, making it ideal for fit-ups that are less than perfect. This Ready-Pak provides all necessary front-end components to convert a Power Wave® station into a high-performance fabrication cell.
