The Lincoln Electric Ranger 225 Engine Driven Welder (K2857-1) is a robust solution designed for professionals who demand versatility and reliability in remote locations. At its core lies the industrial-grade 23 HP Kohler Command CH23S gasoline engine. This 2-cylinder, 4-cycle overhead valve engine is air-cooled and engineered for durability, featuring an oil drain extension for simplified maintenance and a 12-gallon fuel tank that supports long operational hours. The unit is housed in a totally enclosed case, a critical design feature that not only protects the engine and internal components from the elements but also dampens noise, achieving a sound level of just 76.4 dBA at 23 feet.

Multi-Process Welding Capability

This machine is a true multi-process workhorse. It delivers smooth DC welding output suitable for a broad range of stick electrodes, including Excalibur 7018 and Fleetweld 5P+. Beyond stick welding, the Ranger 225 is capable of DC TIG welding (scratch start), as well as MIG and Flux-Cored welding when paired with compatible wire feeders like the LN-25 PRO. The output is rated at 225 amps at 25 volts with a 40% duty cycle, and 210 amps at 25 volts with a 100% duty cycle, ensuring it can handle sustained welding tasks without overheating. Operators can choose between DC(+) for deep penetration or DC(-) for thinner materials, with fine adjustment controls to dial in the perfect arc.

High-Capacity AC Generator

Beyond welding, the Ranger 225 serves as a powerful mobile power station. It provides a peak single-phase AC generator power of 10,500 watts, ideal for motor starting, and a continuous output of 9,000 watts. This capacity allows the unit to power a variety of job site tools, including grinders, lights, and even plasma cutters or inverter welders. The generator features a full-KVA 120V/240V receptacle delivering up to 38 amps, alongside two 120V duplex receptacles. With all-copper windings in the rotor and stator, the Ranger 225 ensures high-quality insulation and long-term dependability, making it an indispensable asset for construction, maintenance, and emergency power applications.
