The Lincoln Electric Vantage 322 (K2409-5-RP1) is a robust, industrial-grade diesel engine-driven welder and AC generator designed for heavy-duty applications in construction, pipe welding, and maintenance. At its core, this machine features a 22-horsepower Kubota V1505 four-cylinder diesel engine, which is EPA Tier 4 Final compliant, ensuring reliable operation with reduced emissions. The unit is engineered with Lincoln's patented Chopper Technology®, which provides superior DC arc performance with precise control over the welding output. This technology facilitates a smoother arc, significantly reduced spatter, and excellent bead appearance across all supported processes, including Stick, TIG, MIG, Flux-Cored, and Arc Gouging.
The "Ready-Pak 1" configuration is a turnkey solution delivered fully assembled. It mounts the Vantage 322 welder on a medium-duty, two-wheel trailer (K2636-1) equipped with a Duo-Hitch® (2 in. ball/lunette eye combination), a fender and light kit (K2639-1), and a cable rack (K2640-1). This pre-assembled package allows for immediate deployment to job sites without the need for extensive setup or auxiliary equipment procurement. The package also includes a complete set of 2/0 welding cables (50 ft electrode and 50 ft work), an electrode holder, and a work clamp, ensuring the operator is ready to weld upon arrival.
In terms of output, the Vantage 322 delivers up to 400 amps of DC welding current (Max Rating) and is IEC rated at 300 amps at 32 volts with a 100% duty cycle. This high duty cycle allows for continuous operation in demanding environments. The machine offers five distinct process modes: CC-Stick, Downhill Pipe, Touch Start TIG®, CV-Wire, and Arc Gouging. The Arc Gouging mode is capable of handling carbon rods up to 5/16 inch (8.0 mm) in diameter. Additionally, the integrated generator provides 11 kW of continuous three-phase AC power (240V) and 10 kW of continuous single-phase AC power (120/240V), sufficient to run plasma cutters, pumps, grinders, and lights simultaneously with welding operations.
Maintenance and durability are key design focuses. The unit features a stainless steel roof and side panels to resist corrosion. A lockable sliding engine access door provides ample space for routine service, while a battery drawer located on the front allows for easy maintenance. The 20-gallon (75.7 L) fuel tank extends operational time between refills, outperforming many competitors in its class. A Voltage Reduction Device (VRD™) is standard, reducing Open Circuit Voltage (OCV) in CC-Stick mode to enhance operator safety.
