OVERVIEW

Advanced Aluminum Welding Power Source

The Miller AlumaPower 350 MPa is a heavy-industrial MIG welding power source engineered specifically to address the unique challenges of aluminum fabrication. At the core of this system is Miller's Auto-Line Power Management Technology, which provides unprecedented flexibility by allowing the machine to hook up to any input voltage between 208 and 575 V, single- or three-phase, without manual linking. This ensures consistent welding output even when input power varies by +/- 10%, making it an ideal solution for job sites with dirty or unreliable power.

This unit distinguishes itself with built-in Pulsed MIG programs tailored for common aluminum alloys, such as 4000 and 5000 series, and wire diameters up to 1/16 inch. The Synergic Welding Mode simplifies operation by allowing the welder to control voltage and amperage simultaneously via the wire feed speed knob. As wire speed is adjusted, the power source automatically aligns the pulse parameters to match the energy requirements, eliminating the complexity of manual pulse tuning. For applications requiring high aesthetic standards, the Profile Pulse™ feature modulates the output to create a "stacked dimes" bead appearance typically associated with TIG welding, but with the speed and deposition rates of MIG.

Precision arc control is managed through SharpArc® technology, which allows the operator to fine-tune the arc cone shape and puddle fluidity in Pulsed MIG mode. A simple dial adjustment can shift the arc from a wide, fluid cone for wetting out toes to a stiff, narrow arc for tighter control. The machine also features a 115V auxiliary power receptacle on the rear panel, specifically designed to power optional coolant systems without requiring additional wall drops. Reliability is ensured through Wind Tunnel Technology™, which routes cooling air only over heat sinks and prevents contaminants from settling on sensitive electronic boards, and Fan-On-Demand™, which minimizes noise and energy consumption.

FAQ

The machine features Auto-Line technology, allowing it to accept any input voltage from 208 to 575 V, single- or three-phase, without manual linking.

Yes, it has built-in Pulsed MIG programs specifically optimized for aluminum alloys (4000 and 5000 series) to provide spatter-free welds and better heat control.

Profile Pulse is a feature that modulates the welding output to create a ripple pattern in the weld bead, simulating the "stacked dimes" appearance of TIG welding without requiring gun manipulation.

The 115V auxiliary power receptacle on the rear panel is designed to power an optional water cooler, such as the Coolmate series, for use with water-cooled MIG guns.

While the AlumaPower 350 MPa is optimized for aluminum with specific pulse programs, it can weld steel and stainless steel when set up with the appropriate wire, gas, and drive rolls.

It is optimized for use with the Miller XR-AlumaFeed system (XR-Aluma-Pro or XR-Pistol Grip) for superior aluminum feeding performance.

The rated output is 350 Amps at 34 Volts DC with a 60% duty cycle. The amperage range is 5 to 425 Amps.

SharpArc controls the arc cone shape and puddle fluidity in Pulsed MIG mode, allowing the welder to adjust for a flatter bead or a stiffer, more focused arc.
